I wanted to be like the flood and all the people who were flooded. I noticed all the junk of dumpsters hanging around in yards where before there was other junk, and the rusted-out dumpster of my imagination kept painting itself out with some weathering of my own. With the wood, I soaked it and bleached it and twisted it cruelly, just like God.
